Boston 2010

We went Boston after Thanksgiving to visit Karen’s sister and her family, they actually live in Salem but drove into Boston to meet us. We were also joined by Karen’s friend that recently moved to New York.

We stayed at the Westin in downtown Boston. It is hard to not like a Westin hotel. The room was plush but a little on the small side. The elevators were incredibly fast, we were on the 21st floor and it never took long to get there. They had a bar and restaurant on the main floor, looked nice but we did not eat there. The workout room was good, it was large and had a lot of cardio equipment. The only thing that I did not like about the Westin was there was no free wifi anywhere in the Westin, not in our room or the lobby.

We explored downtown Boston for the weekend. My favorite bar was the Rattlesnake Bar and Grill, good food and they had one of my favorite beers- Delirium Tremens (DTs, get it?)

I rented a car from Enterprise through Hot Wire for our last several days in Salem. I had to take the airport shuttle from the Westin to the airport and then take the Enterprise shuttle from the airport to the lot. I walked into the Enterprise office without any luggage, which they noticed and they were not going to rent me a car because I had not come directly from the airport. I immediately asked for the manager. Since I did not live in Boston, I had produced my Minnesota license, they finally rented a car to me.  We took the subway to the  Boston Museum of Fine Arts see the Avedon. The boys were a little (lot) young for Avedon so they checked out other exhibitions with their parents.

In the picture at the left you can see Karen, Robbie, Lori, Kai and Tony and Lori are in the seat behind Karen.
